The difference is that Canon can refuse to repair an import item even if you're willing to pay for it. A used but made-to-be-sold-in-USA item can be repaired by Canon.

I bought both of my 80D refurb from Canon site. Great upgrade overall to my 60Ds for sure! Low light is " better" but there are a lot better cameras out there if that's your priority.
