I have an old Husky 3/8" impact I bought years ago for smaller jobs where the 1/2" wouldn't fit. I'm tempted to purchase these because I don't have any 3/8" deep well sockets in metric or Imperial.

It's best not to use an adapter if you can help it. Since you bought a 1/2" wrench, you should get 1/2" sockets for it.

3/8" impact is of limited utility IMO, 1/2" is where I would think most users would require impact sockets. GW stuff is nice though usually.
