I was there earlier in the year, maybe March or so. Pretty rough if you ask me. Heck I headed out to Arecibo observatory and it was like something out of the walking dead........:lmao:
No. It's not a country. PR is commonwealth of the USA and as so, it is a territory. Now here is a shocker for those of you who insist, it is a country. If you consider it it a country, then you must...

It wasn’t ever a large concern.
As opposed to most red states in the south which take more federal funds than they contribute? Those states are essentially welfare states subsidized by blue states
Just booked a trip in April. Round Trip from Austin, TX for only $278.80/person after taxes! Thanks OP!
PR is politically in shambles. Most everything else is back to pre Maria status. I am actually in PR as I type this
I was there in March as well with children ranging in age from 7-14. They all loved it there..., one of their favorite trips. The people there are fantastic, which was so impressive, especially...
Yeah, and you might as well stop regurgitating your ignorance, but that's not going to happen either. Was in SJ in January and March. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Is the situation any better in PR? I keep hearing from my Puerto Rican friend that the island is dead with millions in distressed desperate people, corrupt government, and in a lot of turmoil.
It’s culebra! I’ve not been recently but I’m sure it’s fine as vieques has recovered
It is not a great situation of you live there, unless you retire there, but it is a great spot for tourists to visit. The rainforest was amazing, but is still not recovered I would imagine....
His list is incomplete. ...
Unfortunately, I was only there for three days for St. John’s Night. My sister was there for longer and visited more beaches and forests.
Puerto 👏 Rico 👏 is 👏 not 👏 a 👏 country.👏 It is a U.S. territory. Now louder for those in the back.
No at all. And after the hurricane, tourism is great and cheap.
Anywhere in the west side is great.
It's a country, the US just "claimed" them. Like Guam for example.
Yay, I'm all for it if it means that it's for the greater good, but all I see is more debt and problems for the U.S. to take on.
Is it? Was debating on going back. Worried of bad conditions tho
Any recommendations where to stay?
NO Chicago, damn
Culebra is beautiful and known for its beaches. Highly recommend going. I was there in March and it wasn't affected like the main island.
