And why I am keeping my GV as I buy the Mint promo deals (ready for number 4 soon) and just swap in the new Mint number they assign. Fi has it's issues from what I read.

Only relative to the promo provisions. You can port out of Fi at any time. If you financed a phone, you’ll obviously be expected to pay off the balance, just like all providers do.

Its one or the other. If you are buying the device then you can only get Travel GC. Only if you BYOD then you qualify for 200 promotion

You are not correct. If he port in his verizon number, he will lose his GV number. I tried and google tell me I will give up my Gv number.

I don't believe this is accurate as Google reassigns your Fi account over your GV account & even warns that you'll lose your GV # porting a carrier number over to Google Fi.
