Just installed hwinfo64 and looked. During simultaneous gpu and cpu load in folding@home, the gpu goes between 58.385w-83.306w averaging 72.558w while cpu is 41.613w-45.326w averaging 43.289w. ...

Possible. FWIW, I'm getting basically the same results in folding--GPU 75W average, CPU 47W average. 1.250 undervolt here. I'm also on all the newest BIOS, EC, etc., that were posted to the OP...

Thanks. Both units I have seen this on were made in Oct. Can you confirm the power draw from the GPU? It seems once the GPU hits 70+ watts the CPU will be limited to 35watts.

I bought the 17. Not much bigger. The plastic chassis seems very sturdy. I wanted to play X-plane and I bought it for these reasons. Some 3rd party scenery suggests 32 GB, I know 32 GB. Frame...

No. I was also running prime 95 26.6 to keep the CPU going. With prime 95 alone the CPU will pull 55+ watts with temps in the high 60's - PL1 and PL2 are 45w and 55w respectively. Once Kombustor...

Yes. That's also what I am debating buying the 17inch vs 15inch, since the 17inch has better cooling and low noise even it's 200 more. It's not just because 16gb more memory and bigger screen are...

My unit shipped with a 180 watt PS but I imagine the BIOS settings are set for a 150 perhaps?
Post #123946690 added 12-29-2018 9:46 AM by kickstop in Deal Talk
I think some resellers that use this Tongfang chassis still ship with 150w PS so the BIOS settings are set for lowest common denominator. Maybe someone will find a way to edit BIOS setting or flash...

So far, I like way the keys feel on 17+. They feel closest to my brown switch keyboards that I own. The 15+ keyboards are ok...but feel kind of mushy right after tactile bump that seems higher than...

The keys on 17+ just feel crisper don't they? I was also surprised how nicer the hexagon keys look in person. I thought they were ugly in closeup pictures and videos but when looking at keyboard...

Depends. The $200 delta for 16 gb of ram and 1 TB HD space is not worth if for me. However the 17" does have slightly better thermals, some prefer its keyboard, but the screen is not as good...

I have not measured decibels or anything, but overall 17+ fan noise is quieter in midrange to max speeds. Lower range speed noise seem same to me. The biggest difference is at max speed the 15+...

I'd love to return the $479 Walmart laptop for this if it had g-sync. G-sync is criminally missing from all recent laptop deals. You either have vsync on and suffer with terrible input lag, or vsync...
