I did it through a one time payment on myadt.com, and it triggered the Amex Offer email a day later. No need for people to call anymore, now that there's a proven alternative.

This wouldn't make any sense really. I have not heard of a company issuing a credit card refund on a credit balance - some automatically send a check, which would be fine in this case.

That's true it doesn't get better but I was able to get my Simplisafe monitoring down to $10 a month for the next 3 years by using an Amex offer and Simplisafe throws in some free months when you pay...

I'd imagine you can call regular ADT customer service and make payment that way? As I assume that's where they'd redirect you anyways if you already have an existing ADT account.
