While I'm not xenodude I'll add in my experience and say that crucial is dependable with high value data, comparable to samsung. In addition both are OEM's and both make quality products.

Just invest in the SSD. If the logic goes out, the SSD can still be used for a new PC. RAM is your own decision if you can live with limited RAM-intensive apps.
