Most retailers do not allow returns of used processors unless defective. Also, you can't un-activate a game, so I wouldn't count on being able to return this at all.

I just bought this processor from Newegg in a bundle deal with the Asus prime x470 pro no tax for me in Missouri. Save some money and look for a bundle deal if your needing a MOBO as well.

For gaming use, 2xxx are probably better for it cause gen 1 wasn't good for gaming use, 1700x will be a little better than 2600 in workstations, but it will be not so much

Go with 2600 non X and add custom cooler and good mobo for oc. If you are lazy then decent b450 and 2600x for stock precision boosting. no need for 7 unless you are video rendering.

With patches the 2600 is about 25% faster than the 1600. At launch the gap was only 15%. Other than that the 2600 is less picky on ram.

This is pretty much the normal price it has been. Unless you desperately need a new CPU, I'd hold off on purchasing one until summer when Zyzen 2 releases.
