It basically cost me $100 to upgrade to the new card. I'm a sucker for new tech and, pompously, I have the means to do it. I wouldn't recommend jumping from a 1080ti to a 2080 for anyone else.

Depends on your other parts. BUT for me, i have a 1080ti, which is slightly weaker, and no game goes below 60 other than Anthem(45-55). Witcher 3, destiny 2, etc. Are all 80+ minimum

As the other poster said it'll just scale down to match, however DO NOT GO SLI. I just sold my second 1080 Ti because I would actually get worse performance in games with the SLI configuration...
