I can’t find the IVS settings. Do I have to flash the firmware to Dahua’s in order to see it? I’m hooking the camera to a PoE switch and access the settings using web browser.

Mat, I'm sick of looking at cameras and not buying anything. Tell us what you buy. I want POE and want to be able to see faces and license plates ~30ft away and in the dark. Turret, bullet, dome,...

Matt really doesn't provide what he buys and always leads us to the BF post. He allows us to pick his brain but that is as far as he goes. Like I've said in plenty of postings the day I see Matt say...

Oh, I'd love the starlites to get on SD, dont get me wrong. I'd buy them for relatives in a heartbeat if it came from a resellletr. But that would require a reseller to deem that a 2MP camera would...

HI psumarsh, From what I can tell they seem fairly close Montavue: 1/2.5" 8MP Starvis CMOS sensor This maybe the fixed lens variant of that Montavue varifocal ( which would be an Dahua OEM...

My opinion for most IoT devices, and especially cameras and their NVRs are not updated frequently enough to be considered secure. It’s best to block internet access to the cameras using the router...

Hi Tyt In general Arlo really sucks when you want a reliable system. This is far superior to any cloud based system if you need a reliable system as well as useful video for evidence ( the...

Hi mtru As these are also Dahua OEM cameras - yes, they should also work with the Montavue NVRs as they are also Dahua OEM cameras. ( as long as the NVR is rated for "4k") Note - some of the...

Post #126366823 added 03-25-2019 5:16 PM by mat2000 in Deal Talk
Hi topcho, because people are now referring to UHD as "4K" does not mean they did not hijack another standard and thus created confusion by doing so to sell products which do not meet the original...

Just found this from the LaView site which confirms mat's guidance: It seems "Saturn" is code for Dahua in LaView speak. Sucks that h.265 is not compatible with my (LaView) Hikvision NVR. You...

Can you install these on the side of the house, or do you need to have them orientated correctly? I also find the product title typo funny: "Ourdoor "
Post #126398839 added 03-26-2019 5:33 PM by tofu. in Deal Talk
The answer given by Matt is yes, but it seems it will be hard to orient since they only move up or down, not 360 like a ball joint. You need the fixture to keep them in the horizontal plane, but...

That's my question, too. I know they sell fixtures for these so they can remain in a ceiling mount position while the fixture is attached to the wall, but that adds another $30 per camera

OK but UHD is also an official standard and by far that's what people refer to by 4K.
