Oh I agree, I actually think the JBL 580's I just purchased were actually worth almost $200 per speaker more than the 270's they replaced, more than double the price per speaker which reflected...

Yes, you are right and I get the overall point you are making. However, it should be noted that performance/value is not always a linear equation, a.k.a. law of diminishing returns.

The Studio 580's are $350 each, the LSiM's 705's last went, on sale, for just under $1000 each... The question isn't do the Polks sound better, it should be assumed for that kind of extra cash......

Would you give the downlow where the JBL Studio 2(ie 290/235c) would fit under the comparison you're talking about above? How far below the LSiM, and Studio5's? The LSiM look to be very highly rated....

Not at all. These will not beat LSIM in music quality. If you like nice and bright music, sure go for this. This is the type of speaker that you will tend to like instantly but listen to it more...

JBL 520C - this is the matching center to pair with the 580/590’s. Do NOT get the 235C. Tried it and immediately returned it as the sound signatures were completely different. 520C is so much better

Considering you’re comparing a tower and bookshelf, it’s the same tier in quality and sound. Kefs will look 10x better if WAF is an issue.
