Air china is a fine airline, no issues with them at all. Just book ticket to Japan for $499, this is great deal if you can find travel.

Why they charge 84.6% tax. It is about the same as the ticket. So the total will be $950 instead of $499

I've flown them about 6x and have purchased for family tickets with them due to cost and affiliation with United airlines (so you can get miles). They do seem to have delays, but not cancellation...
