you are talkign about millet or milo. Don't bother wtih it, most birds don't like it anyways so they toss it to get to the stuff they like.

try limiting seed choice to something palatable only to the birds you're wanting to attract.
maybe consider some chicken wire around feeders to restrict access to larger birds.
