I am on the fence. Will this play games for long periods without throttling? My man reservation about "gaming" laptops is noise and heat.

If you check here, there's info on actual usage scenarios (try from around page 98, though there's also more b4!) from "Bauble" and "SlickDragon", for example. Looks like there aren't any issues...

From what I've been seeing here and on Notebookreview.com's forums, yes, you'd be able to "play games for long periods without throttling" and/or adjust fan and boost settings - obviously, cooling...

Can anyone find more info on the display? Nits? Contrast? Color accuracy? Nothing kills an otherwise good laptop for me more than a dim washed out screen

Just out of curiosity, you say it gives it a 5% boost over other computers running the same GPU but how does it benchmark vs. an RTX 2060? I had thought the RTX 2060 was a step up from the GTX 1660i....

Minus the size, and while the Eluktronics might be smaller the Y740 is still pretty light and small, you only said why you didn't need all the additional extras on the Y740 but didn't really mention...

Thermal paste process same as 17" version? Or does it not apply to the 15"

There is no vague hiding. No laptop manufacturer lists battery life in terms of max gaming, full load battery life. Most gaming laptops have some leeway on how much to let it push while on battery...

That's not true, not everyone wants a 17" laptop. 15" is objectively easier to carry in a bagpack, and easier to use as a laptop, not just as a desktop replacement. Yes, size wise, the 17" is like...

This is a question we really have difficulty answering. We've had customers say they've gotten up to six hours out of this chassis and others just 1.5 because everyone uses their system differently....
