I put one of these in my Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (a 6+ yr old mobo) using a $4 PCI-e adapter. Works great, even boots after BIOS update. 1900Mb/s sequential. Amazing steam drive.

I think the market has the pricing of these NVMe SSDs accordingly for speed. Certainly, there are faster NVMe SSDs, but you pay for that Samsung Pro line.
