Just make sure the enclosure is M.2 and NVMe capable, most cheap USB enclosures are only M.2 SATA compatible.

This is about twice as fast as any SATA drive on the market. I think we are at the point were SATA drives became obsolete based on the price/storage or price/speed.

One more thought. What's the make/model of your mobo? If the Gen3 M.2 has dedicated lanes to the MOBO, stick it in there until you upgrade.
