Personally I would go with the Acer nitro that is on sale regularly for $630 on BH photo and urlhasbeenblocked. For $70 less you get a stronger graphics card, almost comparable CPU, faster ram (but 4 GB less)...

Calling this a gaming rig is a stretch: 460W Power Supply is not enough to power high end GPU video cards. Best it will do is a 1060 give or take.

Agree. It is hard to beat the Acer deal for a lower/mid level gaming desktop. That thing can play most games easily at 1080p and probably higher for a little older games.

This isn't strictly true... Single thread (most game) performance has only gotten incrementally faster clock for clock since 2nd gen i7 - however multithreaded tasks (photoshop, productivity, etc)...
