This isn't strictly true... Single thread (most game) performance has only gotten incrementally faster clock for clock since 2nd gen i7 - however multithreaded tasks (photoshop, productivity, etc)...

You'll have to ask others about that as I don't play too many games. My computer has a GTX 1060 which is the geforce equivalent of the radeon 580 and it does great with overwatch and apex legends...
