That's normal. Most of the computers will show generic. You need to go to details tab and check under hardware ids.

You don't need a cable for M.2 SSD, unless you want to add a 2nd SSD SATA3 drive in the EMPTY slot the laptop provided. He only did a replace with a larger M.2 drive.

Yes. There's an open empty slot for it, but you will need to buy a bracket and a cable for it. The OP did mention this 2nd drive/SSD slot with cable to buy in his thread at the beginning.
