Well you have to push a little bit on a drill. If you are constantly pushing hard on the drill, either its speed is too low, the drill bits are dull, the material is tough (like steel or something)...

How much do you have to press? If you have dull bits, or if you have cheap dull screws (i.e. ikea like screws, or HF screws) then yes, you will have a harder time. You do have to press on anything...

Hmm... but I noticed that every time I use a drill, or at least the very old drill that I have, I always have to press the back of it to put enough force to penetrate the wall or drive the screw in....

That's an impact driver adapter though. There's no chuck so you couldn't use this with normal drill bits. You'd need quick change drill bits or something like that.
