There is no interaction necessary at all with the FreeUp app to get and maintain free service. It's only to get credits for people on their paid plans or to get credits for overages if they wanted....

Do you realize that this service is CDMA and not GSM? The sim should have come with the phone. If you do know that and you are aware of the type of sim you have you can get one at Ting.

I prefer Mint Mobile for the TMO network around here, but I reckon I'll swap to Tello next year after the transition is complete if it ends up being all the same network and level of prioritization.
