yup, I did that but it beeping anyways. I think the difference was that the battery wasnt depleted but it became faulty so likely beeped no matter if you loss power or not.

Not really. It'll help protect your equipment if the generator starts to brown out but it won't keep a consistent voltage if the input voltage is fluctuating within the operating range of the battery...
