Why do you say these are "basically read-only"? They're slower than the best when writing large files but random writes are plenty fast, which is what most people need most of the time.

As far as performance goes QLC is perfectly fine for 90% of users, but the issue at the moment is the poor durability. The TDW on these are horrendous.

Yes, these are good for laptops. I put one in my Dell XPS 13 and it's great! They don't get too hot (no heatsink is ever needed with these drives). Their idle power consumption is really good....
