Maybe if you plan on using a laptop to render video or something that uses the bandwidth of the nvme lanes but for a boot drive on a gaming or general use laptop these are great.

I don't disagree with the use case you're presenting, my point was simply, from the perspective of getting your money's worth , and the rated speed on the box, it's not as straight forward
