Not true, you are probably trying to redeem them on a 3rd party seller item. Click sears only or just go in store, you can redeem points on any item sold by sears.

If you haven't done sears point deals in a while, it's even more of a pain now as they restrict what items you can redeem points on. You can't even buy what you want.
