Totally agree. Asus is hands-down the best (their AC68U is 6 years old and still best-in-class). There is also great 3rd party Merlin firmware too, if wanted. They update their firmware regularly...

the only router from netgear i'd recommend is the x4s solely based on raw performance. however, other routers have better firmwares that include things like VPN client support.

That’s weird because all of ours work. My in law, my brother in law, and I have the r6700v2 and everything is working fine. The signals penetrated the walls a lot better than the ASUS we had.

Thumbs down, Netgear Nighthawk routers are bad products. Wifi regularly drops, router needs to be reset regularly, etc. I have a $200 nighthawk and it's worse than a $50 no-name wifi router....
