Noooo! But there's no G-SYNC! My old Acer Predator i7 7700hq with GTX 1070 has GSYNC at 60hz, but it's better than nothing!
Post #131869006 added 11-13-2019 1:52 PM by beefalo16 in Deal Talk
Yep, no Gsync on this sucks. Most games even with gfx turned all the way down can't run at anywhere near a locked 144fps(aside from esports titles, and well optimized older games). So your options...

That's very tempting. My hard price is $999. Might be worth it with the 512Gb SSD.

No LCDs are out of the box color accurate. That's why they sell colorimeters. There are 0 professionals shopping for monitors thinking, oh look

Can you help me find a Y740 with 144 hz 17 in solid graphics card, and at least 500gb SSD? Is 250 GB enough to run an operating system and games on?

Since it is already Nov 7 and Walmart has a 30-day return policy for electronics including laptops, you can buy it now if you really like it and think it is a good deal to you. I suggest keep it...

You post this same post in every laptop thread, geez man just enjoy your laptop. You don't need to try and rationalize your purchase endlessly unless you're a Dell rep.

I can't say I can agree 100% with you. I mean this has a 16 GB ram. Also the Legion's build quality is probably a bit better than a Dell. I'd say this isnt a bad deal.
Post #131666002 added 11-07-2019 5:09 PM by eryeal in Deal Talk
You just contradicted yourself. It's not "always better" - in this very thread your config isn't better. Unless you are going to find some way to rationalize why 8GB is better than 16GB.

I don’t know which GPU Lenovo offer but for Nvidia at the moment it goes like this from weakest to strongest GTX 1650 - GTX 1660ti - RTX 2070 - RTX 2080
Post #131807377 added 11-11-2019 9:02 PM by neil9796 in Deal Talk
You're confusing 1660ti w/ the old gen 1060. RTX 20xx and GTX 16xx are all current gen.
Post #131868403 added 11-13-2019 1:34 PM by beefalo16 in Deal Talk
The 1660TI is faster and uses less power than the 1660Super.

For what it’s worth the average computer monitor is 300nits or less. Indoors 300 nits is plenty. Obviously 500 is better but not a deal breaker. You’d be more worried about color accuracy and...

What are the order of the graphics cards offered in the Y740 and Y540 in order from worse to best? I dunno what I’m reading as far as graphics cards and what is good or not.
Post #131665423 added 11-07-2019 4:50 PM by xtp in Deal Talk
I assure you it's not better built. and an extra 8gb is not worth $300 price difference. you can buy 2x8gb of faster than stock cl 15 ram for $140 on sale.
Post #131665564 added 11-07-2019 4:54 PM by RunnerUp82 in Deal Talk
Often times, your quoted config isn't even better than the one in a topic though. You're just a spammer, troll or a shill.

For what its worth, i think this is an OK deal. There was a VERY slick deal on a legion y545 w/ almost the same exact specs but w/ a 60hz screen instead of 144hz, and 128GB SSD + 1TB instead of 512gb...

The 15 inch are all 500 nits, the 17 inches are 300 nits. It is not that important.
