I work in insurance claim I'd just buy an a/m or lkq light vs wasting money on these.. my vehicles are both just halogens sooo it's not that bad

Yes. This works and lasts. Body shops will charge around $50 to do this professionally but you need to remove your headlights, which can be a pain on some cars.

I’m not sure on the protective coating. Though they did a diligent job. They did say half hour, but the guy worked on it for over an hour trying to do the best job he could.

Just use Rubbing compound or Polishing compound. It does the job equally well. After that seal it with clear topcoat.
