You don't get to choose that, Delta applies as much as possible onto the remaining balance of the GC.

That's not a deal breaker at all for me. I have the Amex Delta so luggage is free. And most Delta flights allow a free carry on. Don't need premium seating upgrade either. It's a great deal.

if you need to use more than 3 gift cards on one booking, call delta. I used 10 $50 gift cards on one ticket by calling delta.
