Actually I did some reading and apparently the comet lake ulv i7 was given 6 cores instead of 4, so perhaps you would benefit from that.

One give away, at least for the 13.3" screen, is that the most recent model gets rid of the bezel on the screen so it is bezel-less. Who know if it might be the same for the 15.6"

It is not ice lake. It is comet lake. The processor is 14nm instead of the 10nm of ice lake.
However to make up for it, intel gave the i7 6 cores, so if that might influence your buying decision.
