I've had multiple lines in RP and even ported from RP to Verizon direct without issue and also from GSMA to CDMA within RP too. Don't let other folks scare you on either concern.

I don't think you understood the question. Some providers allow you to port out a number and replace it with a different one without cancelling the service. RP won't.
