That would not be a good idea because the MacBook Pro only supports SSD over SATA and you’d essentially have to convert this drive to SATA wiping away any of the read/write speed benefits of a PCI-e...

Great point if this is true for those of us that bought the thin costco laptop. I think I'm going to stick with the samsung 970 EVO which has a built in heat sync and a thinner profile.
