There are technical limitation for the connector use. That's why you never see a usb-c or lighting port cable with a micro usb adapter attached.

The drawback of the split cables is they're power-only, no data. I still like them as charging cables, though.

I purchased this item last time it was on sale and the lightning adapter is already quite loose when I try to put it on the usb micro usb portion. I wouldn’t by it again

If lightning is main plug instead of micro usb, I will take it. Believe it or not, putting the lightning on top of micro usb will decrease the charge speed for at least 10%.

Also the micro usb connection is notorious for becoming loose after some usage. It’s probably the worst to use as the main connector.
