Sounds fishy... They can never know based on the category. If I buy cleaning supplies from staples my CC won't know that I didn't buy pens instead. They bear the burden of proof and you should demand...

I had an issue trying to get cash from these cards. My usual routine of buying MO at WM would not work with these cards. Bring back VISA cards for a pain-free experience.

Who was your card issuer? I have easily purchased +$35,000 of mcgc and vgc over the last 9 months on a single card. Never an issue. Only issue is when staples limits me to one per customer!
