Thinkpad's warranty follows the laptop, not the owner. As long as it's under warranty, they will fix/replace no matter who the owner.

FWIW, don't get anything older than 8th gen i5 CPU. That's when Intel moved from 2 cores to 4 cores.

Agree some newer specs but an ideapad is not a thinkpad series. I would only buy a thinkpad or x1 series. I look for high end consumer series or business series laptop.
