I prefer to own my own tanks so I can control how much wear and tear the tanks receive. You can easily get tanks refilled at most BJ's wholesale clubs and local big equipment rental stores. I find,...

I'm planning on renting an RV, is it pretty simple to connect these to an RV? Also will this last for about 5 days?

If the rv has them on the trailer tounge then yes it's easy. They have the same screw on connection your typical grill. some RV have a permanent tank in the back or underneath. The 2 tanks should...

I have 30 pounders on my RV and it makes it more difficult to get propane. If you have 20 pounders you can exchange pretty much anywhere even if it's out of certification. Good luck with a 30lb...

U-Haul generally is a last resort if no other places are open or I'm traveling and can't find somewhere else to refill. With their prices, though, it's still cheaper to refill than exchange.

Not sure about where you live.. Here in Southern California there is a place called Ted Johnson Propane where I take my tanks to get refilled. They charge per gallon used, not per tank. And after 10...

In Burbank CA it commonly costs $2.50 a gallon to fill propane tanks.

One of these 30 lb tanks is probably overkill for a 5 day trip. You could easily get by with a 20 lb tank for 5 days. Unless you had other uses for it after your trip.

My local Costco refills for about $9 and change fo a 20bound tank. I’m thinking of building an outdoor kitchen with propane. It’s so cheap at Costco I have no desire to run a gas line to the patio.

Thoughts on places to fill this? And cost to fill it up (roughly)?
Post #132934547 added 12-03-2019 7:27 AM by Jedadoo in Deal Talk
Same question here. Where would someone fill a tank this size?
Post #132934652 added 12-03-2019 7:29 AM by JoshuaB3661 in Deal Talk
typically your large equipment rental places (uhaul), tractor supply, etc will fill them up by the gallon. it is also substantially cheaper than swapping bottles.

There’s a bunch of places, including Uhaul and gas stations. Just look for the giant propane tank in the parking lot, that will mean they refill cylinders.

For $40, you are probably better off just considering this tank is going to have a 10 year life, give or take. After that, just take it to a scrap yard and have it recycled, which is what ends up...

Same places you get the standard size refilled... A lot of Uhaul locations can accommodate

Very true but they do give you 12 years on the initial certification, then 5 years for each subsequent cert after that. Hopefully these aren't 10 year old NOS lol. When my RV turns 12 I'm turning...

Another thing to note is that It makes more sense to buy the 20 pound one if you consume less propane. They both expire in 12 years but your upfront cost of a 20 pound is @28 ( In Costco)

I have two of these at different houses. Very satisfied with them, especially at this price and if you can combine them with Ebay coupons. Dual Fuel generator
And if you have a Weber or other gas grill with a fuel gauge, the gauge will be useless. Just a thought.
