This is a VERY dangerous myth. Modern cars may now require synthetic oil. My Mazda does according to the owner manual. And still recommend changing every 5000 miles in NJ.

That is an old myth, you can switch back and forth, or even mix them with zero issues.

You can get full synthetic for less than twice the price of standard oil (every day, not even on sale) and it lasts around twice as long and protects better the entire time. If one is buying oil,...

It is most likely "recommended" rather "required". I agree that synthetic is superior to regular oil but changing regular oil at 3k mi or synthetic at 5k mi is just dumb and create more pollution....

Do you guys know who makes Supertech oil? I know their oil filters are made by Purolator. Which is a great brand.

Is it true that you shouldn't switch back and forth between conventional and fill synthetic oil? I've heard once you start using full synthetic you should stick with it. Sounds the kind of...

You can mix it 50/50 if it tickles your fancy. But if you mix 10k mile synthetic oil with 3k dyno you end up with 6500mile oil pretty much. Yes they do mix without any separation but you're...

Negative. Standard oil additives break down early, and allow excessive wear at startup especially at cold temps. As long as you use a good filter and don’t go over the change intervals, all else...

Yep. So you go to the dealership and pay them $50 for another synthetic oil change that's likely not even needed yet.
