It doesn't matter what container you use. You can use a large pot if you have one. This is a cheap alternative if you don't want to bug a metal pot

For sous vide also try those insulated thermal pot. Use a chopstick to keep your precision cooker in place. Maybe not as good as a cooler with a hole on the lid but you can use it for other purposes.
