It was supposed to be an i3 just like last year but the earlier people that got them notice they were i5 instead. The rest is now history.

I bought the similar Office Depot BF special for $549, HP 15" 16G IPS i7 10th gen, 16G 256G SSD, iris plus graphics. No backlight and the keyboard is kind of funky. Looks like they sold it again...

https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/13494871 This is the Costco 399 one. The other at 280 was a crazy deal, an i5 priced as an i3.

am I missing something? the $280 deal looks like it's an i3. Is there another costco $280 deal with an i5?

I don't trust HP any more. I bought a top of the line 17in. They only come with a 1 year warranty. After 1 year and 2 1/2 months it died. HP would not repair it under warranty. I verified that it...

This is the $399 Costco deal, to me it checked all the boxes at its price. https://www.costco.com/hp-pavilion-15.6%22-touchscreen-laptop---intel-core-i5---1080p.product.100480825.html

You’re right but then you should add those extra costs to the “deal” price and re-evaluate. In other words I would want an IPS display with this build @ $599. Maybe I could buy the display...

No option to upgrade the display to IPS (or WVA). This could be a deal killer for many in this price range.

Seems to be a trend lately on these mid range builds. Look at the CPU/RAM/SSD/Display, you get 2 components better than average, 1 on par, and 1 sub par enough to ruin the deal. Kicking myself...
