It actually doesn't act as a heat-spreader, I got the 1TB at 82$ from the deal few weeks ago and after inspection realized that what make contact with the ssd is the plastic part of the HS doing...

I've ran raid 0 HD's and SSD's and while they were noticeably faster than a single drive I ultimately went back to single drives to avoid the possible headache of a failure even though I had backups....

Wouldn't recommend it. It's there for a reason. NVME drives can run hot. Do you really want to put something in your laptop to make it operate at a higher temperature, especially on the bottom side?

Just disassemble the raid. It is completely unnecessary with these type of drives, even normal SSDs. Your speeds can change dramatically just because you raid 0 it. By dramatically I mean slow down....
