Lodge is the standard. For $10 not much to risk. I look for smoothness of interior or base. If it's too rough, I would move on.

Good point, also I got concerned about what it was seasoned with. Amazon is running the same deal and they list it's been seasoned with non-GMO flax oil. This is a gr8t deal, if1!

What's the worry, hydrocarbons? Those aren't going to survive the casting process. Gasoline burns, it turns into CO2 and water.
