Oh, what the heck. $81 (w/filler and tax) for a 6TB external drive works for me. Even if I don't use it as a live backup and/or hub, I can put it to use to run a monthly secondary backup for my 4TB...

Disable head parking on seagate drive and misery is gone. Seagte drive. Loves to parking every 5-6 seconds idle. Nasty...... one solution is use the tool to disable apm. Since i am using linux....
