Is a 30lb limit not reassuring enough? Unless you're using a CRT, I don't know what kind of monitor would strain that limit. There are 80" TVs that don't weigh that much.

Agreed. 20lbs for a monitor is incredibly heavy for modern monitors and most people won't have anything that heavy unless it's ultra-wide.

Also be aware, this only comes with the clamp that slides in between the desk and not an adapter that allows you to drill a hole and clamp that way. If you want that, its an extra ~30 bucks.

I believe it's so the monitor can keep the arm where you place it, instead of lifting up. Too little weight probably means the mechanisms won't stay in place.
