I don't like the 2600x. You pay more for the "x" when you could just OC the 2600. Most review sites saw "X" versions as frills not worth the money. The 2600x also lists a 95w TDP. The 3600 is 65w....

No it does not.The 3600 is a 6c/12t cpu,the 2600x is a 6c/12t cpu also. The 3600 does have higher clocks though,and supports things like pcie gen 4..which have large benefits for SOME ...

Don’t think so unless you’re doing pcie 4 ssd. I got this or a 2700 for $110 a month ago rather than the 3600 because spending $90 more for 15% more power doesn’t make sense.

The stock cooler didn't do a very good job. Pretty much redlined when under load. Got a cheap deepcool for around $20 and knocked about 20c off the load temp.

IMO yes. I went from a 3770 to a 2700X. The CPU is faster but the I/O system is the biggest upgrade. The M.2 post alone makes the system much more snappy. I went from around 300-400 to over 3000MB/s....

When the 2600 and 2600x are the same price it is a no-brainer. The 2600x has a much better cooler. If you want it to use less power, just clock it down. It will run like a 2600.

No, it’s not worth it to upgrade from the 7600 unless you need more cores in which case the 2700x is a better option. Save your money and hold out for a 3700x or 9700k
