I'm no expert, but I believe it's the number before the "w" that doesn't matter after the car is at operating temperature. I.E. a 5w30 and 10w30 will be the same weight when the car is warm. ...

That’s not horrible. At least they used a quality oil. Normally oil and filter is $30-$40. So $20-30 in labor isn’t unfair. You get to relax and stay clean. 😉

Yes. I've recently switched most of my cars over to Pennzoil Platinum from Castrol. The Castrol has been good, but I've been seeing great oil analysis results out of the Pennzoil.
