True, but all that means is you can control TP-Link switches through Smartthings. It doesn't remove the wifi nuances. They still need internet to connect to the Kasa cloud to work.

Pretty much all new construction uses led cans (flat) so bulbs aren't an option. Depending on how many lights you're controlling per switch that's a lot more connections and potential errors.
