The only non-stop flights are on Level, Iberia's lowcost carrier, that has pretty bad word of mouth. Other carriers listed have a stop. Best bet for nonstop to Barcelona is on Norwegian, also budget...

Yes. I think you can pay more to select your seat when booking, but we didn't. When we checked in at the airport they assigned us seats together.

Yes, that works out pretty well for an Airbnb with a washer. I did that at an Airbnb in Italy a few years ago. They also had a washer and no dryer. Had to air dry on racks as you did.
