Yes any “unanswered” motion will only record 30 seconds, 60 for some doorbells. I find it ridiculous as rings response is, “just answer the motion”.

I heard that the only advantage of solar is not having to remove the battery to recharge?? It won't record any longer clips bc of the solar addition.

If you want to do a DIY battery powered + solar recharge hack look for a camera look at doing it with a wired to power camera ( either IP PoE or WiFi ).
