We also use old containers of Country Time Lemonade or Tang if we have any that have gone stale. Even those work pretty well due to the citric acid.

This tablet does work on my Bosch dishwasher. My jet dry cup was broken for 5 years, this stuff cleaned it and now it works again. For 3.50 you got not much to lose.
