There are a bunch, but i'd say only get them if you don't care about (3D) graphics performance. USB itself simply have really poor bandwidth for video output, not even to mention its lack of DMA....

Dumb question: Is this dock only compatible with the Lenovo laptop, not others? From the picture I can see it connects to the laptop via a propitiatory interface, not the universal USB.

This is not a price error. The laptop that uses them are no longer being made. So, the P50/1 and P70/1 are not common. Once the connector is no longer made. These are all cleared out
