I can speak from personal experience the Costco Arcan 3ton is the best deal whenever on sale. The HF aluminum race jacks are also good, but the Arcan feels substantially better and the hydraulics...

These look identical to the HF one minus the branding. There are weight discrepancies across differing sites. I'm betting this is 67lbs. As Amazon shows the Pittsburgh as 34, but HF site shows 67.

Steel does fail more elegantly than aluminum. It tends to bend slowly when overloaded, aluminum can fail fast. Of course if the hydraulics fail it makes no difference.
