The battery life isn't great, but besides that they've ironed out the kinks. As for the case, you can't say it doesn't look good, but definitely doesn't offer much protection.

They are pretty easy to wash, I just use a little dish soap and water with a brush.

Yep, had plastic break on mine, fabric was fraying and looked like crap from the fabric looking dirty. I'm a project manager but my hands were apparently dirty enough from simply being on job sites...

Google cases do not hold up well. In my experience you'll get 3 months if use, or one drop out of a Google case.

Did you put your phone in a shirt or pant pocket? In my experience the rubbing taking it in and out is what kills it. It's good you clean your case but I don't see how that causes it to age any...
